Aftab Ashraf Av is an innovative ML Engineer with a passion for data and insights, computational biology, and bioinformatics. With over 2.85 years of relevant experience, Aftab has a deep understanding of deep learning, machine learning, predictive modeling, computer vision, and NLP. He is proficient in programming languages such as Python and R and has domain expertise in healthcare. Aftab founded Tallshortree during his final year of engineering to bring about a change in the Indian health industry, which eventually led him to explore the world of AI. He firmly believes that with data and machine learning, great products can be built. Aftab's experience includes working as a Bioinformatics Developer at Clevergene, where he developed and implemented automated scripts for data QC analysis, 16s V3V4 analysis pipeline, fungal ITS analysis pipeline, SOP development, and implementation. He ensured 100% adherence to delivery timelines of the pipelines. In the past, Aftab worked as an AI Engineer at Tallshortree Private Limited, where he led a five-member start-up from ideation to MVP development of a bio-medical device. His team was one of the top ten winners of the India Innovation Challenge Design Contest (IICDC)-2017 hosted by Texas Instruments and got incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore. Aftab collected, analyzed, and made insights from real-world healthcare data from biosensors. He represented the team and product at the finals of ASME ISHOW 2019. Aftab's education history includes a post-graduate diploma in Bigdata Biology from IIIT Bangalore and the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB). He also holds a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Vidya Academy of Science and Technology. Aftab has a diverse tech stack that includes ML, AI, Computer Vision, OpenCV, Deep Learning, NLP, Scikit, Python, Tensorflow, Pytorch, product manager, and research scientist. He is a versatile individual who can take on different roles and responsibilities with ease. Aftab is an excellent team player and a quick learner who is always looking for new challenges to enhance his skills and knowledge.
